* Learn from a Valencian chef
* Valencia is known as the 'birthplace' of paella
* Includes visit to the Mercat Central (Mon.-Sat.)
"Valencians eat rice 6 times a week, and paella on Sundays." This is a popular saying in Valencia, and there is certainly some truth in it. Learn how to cook the national dish of the Valencians, with all the ins and outs. You'll prepare the typical version of our area, Paella Valenciana, with chicken and rabbit (for private groups other paellas upon request). You'll also learn about some simple tapas. Drinks like wine, beer, soft drinks and water are included.
The day starts with a visit to the Central Market (Mon.-Sat.): You'll shop for all the ingredients, including saffron, meat and beans. And then it's time to heat the pans: It's your turn to cook your first paella! After the class you will compare all the paellas that have been prepared that day during a relaxed lunch. What will the chef think of your paella?!
You can either participate in an open class in Spanish and English or book this experience just for your private group. The classes take place in the mornings, afternoons or evenings (afternoon and evening: no visit to Mercat Central possible).
