* Spain's largest castle ruins

* Visit the Roman theatre and the archeological museum

* Fantastic views from the castle overlooking the city, sea and mountains

Burg Theater Sagunto Ruine Römisch

Only a 30 minute drive north of Valencia, you will visit the town of Sagunto. In ancient times, this town held much more importance than tiny Valencia. Let your mind wander and imagine how in Roman times Hannibal, the Carthaginian, besieged this fortress for months. He finally took it and made further plans to attack Rome.

Your English speaking guide takes you to Sagunto. You will walk through this historical town visiting the archaeological museum, the Roman theatre and finally the castle's ruins. Its walls expand over 1,000m/3,000ft. Remnants of every culture are evident in Sagunto (Romans, Moors, Christians etc.).  From the castle you will enjoy beautiful views over orange orchards, mountain ranges and the blue Mediterranean Sea. This excursion can be easily combined with lunch in town or on the beach.
